Housing Industry Association (HIA) New Home Sales figures show that the sale of new homes and units among Australia's largest builders and developers has increased by 5.8 % in January to 7963 dwellings.
Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) report showed the trend estimate for building work done rose 1.5% in the December quarter 2006. Residential building rose 1.3% and non-residential rose 1.6%.
Engineering work done rose 1.2% whilst total construction work done rose 1.4% in the latest quarter
